Jesus
At Worth, a Catholic boarding school in the late 1970s, we decided to stage our version of the gospel story of the build up to Jesus’ trial and execution. Liam wrote some new songs and a highly talented and variegated group of pupils contributed to the drama. We don’t have any video but do have some recordings of some of the songs done as rehearsals trying out ideas for the performances which were then done in the Abbey Church at Worth..
We portrayed Jesus as a man presenting a challenge to everyone he encountered. He offered a radically different way of life and encouraged people to make courageous choices.
Julian Hughes was Jesus. Edward Henry was Herod.
